See how to make tasty meatpie in 15minutes

Meat pie is one of the major snacks that can be prepared in a hurry once the ingredients needed are handy.

Today we will look at a quicker way of making a tasty meat pie none can resist.

Materials needed
A Rolling Pin
A round dough cutter (You can improvise with the cover of a medium, sized pot)
A Large Mixing Bowl
2Baking Sheets
A Pastry Brush

For the dough, you will need:

250g of Margarine
1 Cup of Cold Natural Water
1 Teaspoon of Salt
3 Cups of rising flour
1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
3 Eggs

For the meatpie Filling you need:

400g of Minced Meat
Dried Thyme
1 Red Chilli
1 Green Chilli
Seasoning Cubes
2 Carrots
Vegetable Oil

2 medium sized irish potatoes

1 Large Onion (diced)
Curry Powder

Filling Preparation 

1.Peel the irish potatoes and boil them.
Chop them into small cubes once soft.
Chop the carrots, chilli, slice the onions

2.Mix together and chop them again. Add salt,thyme, curry, seasoning cubes to taste.

Add two spoons of vegetable oil to a frying pan and fry the moisture( sauce and minced meat)fry till meat turns brown.

3.Add about 3 spoons of flour to the filling. Pour into a saucepan,add little water( sauce is meant to be semi-solid) and heat for about 5- 7 minutes.    Stir during the last 2 minutes.

Dough preparation

1.Pour 1kg flour in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt and mix thoroughly add margarine and mix properly with your hand.

2.Pour water bit by bit and mix together till it kneads and stops sticking to your hand.(add water if it’s too dry and add flour if it’s too watery)

3. Put in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. This produces a fine dough.

4. Coat your rolling pin with flour, sprinkle flour on your working surface too. Roll and flatten the dough.

Making the Meat Pie

1.Cut the flattened dough with a round dough cutter or alternatively the cover of a pot).

2.Add about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the centre of the cut out round dough and close with a fork. Continue till you finish all.

3.Apply margarine on the baking tray and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Make sure they are properly arrange with none close to each other.

Remove egg from shell dip a brush into the egg( egg washing) and apply on the surfaces of the meatpie.
Send in the meatpie into the oven.
